A donor advised fund is a simple and flexible way to support The American Council through your charitable giving plan. Many donors use a donor advised fund to streamline generosity, maximize tax advantages, and make grants to ministries and nonprofits they trust. If you already have a donor advised fund, giving is usually as easy as recommending a grant from your account.
Why give through a donor-advised fund
Many supporters choose this option because it is convenient, strategic, and allows you to give in a way that matches your long term planning. A donor advised fund can also be a great fit if you want to make a larger charitable contribution in a high income year, then distribute gifts over time. It can also simplify giving by keeping your charitable records in one place and allowing you to support multiple organizations from a single account.
How donor-advised fund giving works
Step 1
Log in to your donor advised fund provider portal.
Step 2
Choose the option to recommend a grant or make a donation.
Step 3
Search for The American Council. If your provider does not find us by name, you can enter our information manually:
AMERICAN COUNCIL FOUNDATION (EIN: 87-1466285)
Step 4
Select the grant amount and choose whether the gift should be one-time or recurring.
Step 5
Add any designation notes if you would like your gift directed to a specific area of our work. If you do not include a designation, your gift will be applied where it is most needed.
Step 6
Submit your recommendation. Your provider will send the grant directly to The American Council.
Common donor advised fund providers
Many donors give through providers such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, Signatry, National Christian Foundation, and community foundations. If you are not sure who your provider is, you can often find it on your account statement, online portal, or by asking your financial advisor.
Important note about acknowledgments
Most donor-advised fund providers send grants without your personal contact information. If you would like a receipt and a thank you note from our team, please include your name and email in the grant recommendation, or notify us after you submit your grant so we can confirm it and thank you properly.
If you would like help completing your grant recommendation, need our organization details for your provider, or want to confirm that a grant has arrived, our team would be honored to assist you. Reach out to our team at hello@theamericancouncil.com.
Thank you for your generosity. Your partnership helps us build leaders of moral clarity and courage, strengthen the Church, and protect the next generation.
