California changes one seat at a time. If you do not support local elected officials, there will be no last line of defense at the local level.
My name is Josh Hoover, and I serve as the State Assemblymember for District 7, which covers northeastern Sacramento County. When I ran for the Assembly, it was incredibly difficult to find financial support. Many people were hesitant to get involved, largely because I was running against a ten-year incumbent. His campaign spent four point five million dollars to keep his seat and protect the supermajority. I had roughly a third of that to get our message out, which made the race extremely challenging.
The American Council was exceptional to work with because they did not just offer financial support. They put feet on the ground. They made phone calls, sent mailers, and ran social media ads. This was the kind of work that very few people were willing to do in my race. I am deeply grateful not only for the financial resources they provided, but for the time, energy, and commitment they poured into the campaign.
What makes The American Council truly unique is that they do not stop once an election is over. They continue working with you on policy. They make sure you have the information and support you need to keep advocating for the values we share.
The American Council is a rare and special organization. There is no one else doing what they are doing, especially when it comes to fighting for families and conservative values. It is critical that we continue to support them, because they are one of the few groups in California that is truly changing the makeup of this state.
