The Executive Assistant serves as a key leadership support role within The American Council, helping strengthen the organization’s internal operations, workflow, and cross-department execution. This person works closely with the President to ensure priorities are moving forward, communication is clear, calendars and travel are well managed, and major initiatives are supported with excellence. This role requires someone who is organized, proactive, trustworthy, and able to operate in both leadership and administrative capacities. The right candidate will be comfortable managing details, anticipating needs, coordinating across teams, and helping turn vision into action.

Key Responsibilities
The Executive Assistant will provide direct support to the President, including calendar management, scheduling, meeting preparation, follow-up, correspondence support, and travel coordination. This includes helping organize appointments, prepare agendas, coordinate logistics, and ensure the President’s time is aligned with the organization’s highest priorities.

This position will also help coordinate internal projects across departments, including events, media, communications, donor relations, and public leadership initiatives. The role will work alongside team leads to help keep projects moving, clarify next steps, track deadlines, and ensure important details do not fall through the cracks. In addition, this person will help strengthen organizational systems by improving workflows, organizing information, maintaining project management tools, preparing internal documents, and helping the team operate with greater clarity and efficiency.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mature, mission-aligned leader who can move seamlessly between big-picture coordination and detailed administrative execution. They should be highly organized, relationally intelligent, discreet, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

They should be comfortable working with pastors, elected officials, donors, vendors, staff members, and community leaders. They must be able to communicate clearly, represent the organization with professionalism, and carry confidential information with wisdom and care.

Qualifications
Strong organizational and administrative skills are required. Experience in executive assistance, operations, project management, events, ministry, nonprofit leadership, or communications is preferred. The candidate should be comfortable using tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, AI chatbots, email marketing systems, and calendars.

Note: The American Council leverages AI agents and chatbots. The Executive Assistant should be very comfortable using this kind of technology.
